This benchmark small batch Bourbon has impressed us for years. You will be treated to classic Bourbon flavours of corn, vanilla and wood spice, but with so much more besides. Rich orchard fruits, chocolate, and caramel feature alongside herbaceous and spicy notes from the rye. Sweet, rich and oily, but with a dry, complex finish. Bottled at a satisfying, and very specific 50. 05% ABV. Nose: Maple syrup, menthol, charred vanilla oak, liquorice, dark chocolate, orange oil, ginger, caramel wafers. Palate: Minty dark chocolate, dark honeycomb, maple syrup on toasted waffles, dark vanilla and oak, hickory smoke, caramel popcorn, banana toffee. Finish: Gingercake, mint chocolate, charred vanilla pods, spicy and aromatic oak, honeycomb, peppery notes with anise and cherry lozenges. A drier and spicier Bourbon with some great dark oak and spice here from some extra Rye malt in the mashbill.
