To create this special, 100% agave tequila, the distillery rests blanco tequila in French and American oak barrels for five years—with violin and symphonic music playing in the background, according to the distillery’s website. When the tequila has aged for the required time, it is bottled in an 80/20 mix, with the spirits aged in the French barrels taking the 80% spot. The spirit is presented in an elegant, handcrafted bottle that itself take three days to make. The ceramic bottle is cast, hand-painted, and baked into a work of art that will grace any liquor shelf or cabinet. Each design is different, so the bottle you buy this year will look different from the next bottle you’ll buy
The elegance of this tequila begins with the color, a lovely light golden tone. On the nose, it offers aromas of vanilla and caramel, a hint of spiciness and smoke, and a whisper of pepper and oak. On the palate, the vanilla and caramel flavors dominate, with some reviewers describing flavors of butterscotch or cinnamon. The agave comes through nicely.
