Matured in a combination of Japanese Oak, Ex-Bourbon and Sherry Oak casks to produce a sweet and delicate single malt oozing with peach, pineapple and grapefruit with subtle vanilla spice and fragrant oak. The first Japanese single malt to be introduced to the UK back in 1984 and now part of the award winning Suntory range of Whiskies and from the oldest whisky distillery in Japan established way back in 1923. Very much a Speyside style single malt but with a more aromatic and spicy edge from the use of the Mizunara Japanese oak which is indigenous to Japan, a country that seems to riding the wave of popularity at the moment in the whisky world. Colour: Pure gold. Nose: Peach, pineapple, grapefruit, clove, candied orange, vanilla, Mizunara (Japanese oak). Palate: Coconut, cranberry, butter. Finish: Sweet ginger, cinnamon, long finish.
