Luce was the first wine from Montalcino made by blending Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. It was thanks to the collaboration of the Marchesi de? Frescobaldi and the Robert Mondavi Families that came the idea of matching the roundness and softness of Merlot, whose vineyards were planted in these plots since the 1970s, with the elegance and structure of Sangiovese. 97 Points - James Suckling Dark berry, walnut, cedar and violet aromas with just a hint of chocolate. Full-bodied, layered and rich with ripe tannins and a vivid finish. Shows energy and a velvety texture. Deep and long.
